Subscriber Unit

A Subscriber Unit is a radio device used by an individual or vehicle to access and communicate through a two-way radio system. It is the end-user radio equipment within the system, rather than infrastructure such as a repeater or base station.

In professional two-way radio, a subscriber unit can be a Portable Radio, Mobile Radio or, in some systems, another compatible terminal used by an authorised subscriber.
